
BRCMS Dress Code Standard for FY2021
Here at Boca Raton Community Middle School, we believe that appropriate attire and grooming contribute to a productive and effective learning environment. We want all students dressed for success and ready to learn. All students are expected to dress and groom themselves in a way that reflects neatness, cleanliness, moderation, and appropriateness for school. If you are in doubt whether a particular garment is acceptable or not, DO NOT WEAR IT! Extremes in fashion, including make-up, clothing, hairstyle, hair color, or any other elements or appearance are not acceptable. Please remember to dress for success each day @ BRCMS!
Final judgment will be up to the administration.

Only the items described below are allowed at Boca Raton Community Middle School.
COVID-19 CLOTH FACE MASK REQUIRED
FOLLOW ALL SDPBC, CDC, STATE & LOCAL POLICIES
CDC recommends that everyone 2 years and older wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth in public settings when around people not living in your household.
SHIRTS
- Solid color polo style with button-up neck; with collar; with sleeves; and worn as the outermost garment.
- BRCMS approved sponsored Cobra and Anti-Bullying t-shirts may be worn but cannot be altered in anyway.
BOTTOMS
- Solid color cotton, poly-blend or twill, khaki-like, pants, shorts, or jeans are to be worn.
- Must be fitted, tailored, hemmed, and of conservative fit. Belts worn if necessary.
- Worn at waist.
- NO LEGGINGS, JEGGINGS, KNITS, YOGA/SPANDEX PANTS, OR TIGHTS ARE ALLOWED
- NO CAMOUFLAGE (SOLID COLORS ONLY)
SHORTS
- Any SOLID COLOR. NO KNITS, CAMOUFLAGE, SPANDEX, OR GYM SHORTS.
- Tailored, hemmed, fingertip length.
- Fitted and worn at the waist.
SKIRTS/SKORTS
- Any SOLID COLOR. NO KNITS, CAMOUFLAGE, SPANDEX, OR GYM SHORTS.
- Tailored, hemmed, fingertip length or longer.
SHOES
- Loafers, sneakers, and flat shoes must be worn.
- Shoes must be completely enclosed and flat.
- No boots, high heels, flip flops or slides of any type are permitted for safety reasons.
SWEATSHIRTS & SWEATERS
- SOLID COLORS only.
- Logo no greater than 2" diameter.
- Must be worn over a polo/golf-style shirt. Collar must be out and visible.
JACKETS & VESTS
- Blazer-style jacket or vest (SOLID COLORS; same as shirts) worn over a polo/golf-style shirt or approved BRCMS/COBRA T-Shirt only.
- Outerwear lightweight jackets must be conservative, appropriate SOLID COLOR, and correct size.
HAIR
- Hair should be clean and neatly groomed.
ACCESSORIES
- Sunglasses that are prescription.
- No hats, bandanas or sweatbands.
- Headphones and ear buds should not be worn or visible and stowed away at all times.
For exceptions to School Board Policy 5.182 and/or School Board Directive 5.182 (Dress Code) please contact the administration.
